Poroshenko: Red Cross, UN should be involved in control over humanitarian aid

The President urges to speed up the establishment of humanitarian and logistics centers falling within the scope of responsibility of the regional governors. 

 In such humanitarian and logistics centers, mobile banking institutions should carry out their activities and people should be able to buy food and drugs at prices lower than those in the occupied territories. 

Parliament amends Tax Code to reduce pressure on business

The Ukrainian parliament has amended the Tax Code of Ukraine on reducing tax pressure on business.

A total of 233 lawmakers passed, at second reading, draft law No. 2004 on amending the Tax Code regarding the reduction of tax pressure on taxpayers on July 17.

Presenting the document, chair of the parliamentary committee for tax and customs policies Nina Yuzhanina said that it envisages the transfer of powers to present generalized tax consultations to the Finance Ministry with their obligatory publication on the ministry's website.

Canada opens market for 98% of Ukrainian goods

Ukraine has approached the possibility of free trade with Canada after signing the document on completion of the talks on free trade area for agricultural producers. 

The Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry press office reports. 

"As soon as the agreement entries into force, the Canadian market will be open for 98% of the Ukrainian production, and, in return, Ukraine will liberalize the market for 80% of Canadian production," the report says. 

Plans to create gambling zone in occupied Crimea fail

The illegitimate authorities of the Russian-occupied Crimea are facing difficulties with attracting an operator of a future gambling zone, said ‘chairman of the State Council Committee of the Republic of Crimea on the economic, fiscal and tax policy' Vitaliy Nakhlupin, according to local news agency Novosti Kryma – Ukraine Today reports.

Ukraine's GDP may grow by 2.7%

The gross domestic product of Ukraine in 2016 may grow by 2.7%. 

This is stated in the macroeconomic forecast for 2015-2025, published by ICU investment group, Ukrinform reports. 

"The basic ICU macroeconomics forecast provides the following dynamics: the decline in real GDP by 13% in 2015 will be followed by a recovery and growth at the level of 2.7% in 2016 and subsequent annual increase by 2% within 2017-2025. The probability of such a scenario is 50%," Oleksander Valchyshen, the head of ICU's Research Department, Member of Investment Committee, said. 

Leaders of Ukraine, Australia agree to coordinate work on MH17 tribunal

Ukraine and Australia will work closely to coordinate efforts to implement the joint initiative of Australia, Belgium, Malaysia, the Netherlands, and Ukraine on setting up the international criminal tribunal to prosecute those responsible for MH17 crash. 

The agreement was reached during a telephone conversation between President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister of Australia Tony Abbott, the press service of the Head of State reports. 

ArcelorMittal invests $1.2 bln in Ukraine - Poroshenko

The ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih steel plant invests USD 1.2 billion in Ukraine.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during his working trip to Dnipropetrovsk region.

"The ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih will invest USD 1.2 billion in Ukraine in the coming years," the President stated.

Poroshenko noted that "Kryvyi Rih becomes a symbol of the revival of Ukrainian economy."

Government wants to legalize Ukrainian migrant workers

The Cabinet of Ministers has submitted a draft law on labor migration to the Verkhovna Rada.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said this on Sunday.

"We will legalize labor migrants working abroad, giving them social guarantees, and we appeal to them that it is necessary to return to Ukraine in order to build the country together," he stressed.

Earlier, it was reported that the Prime Minister called on Parliament to adopt a new Labor Code.

US Company to build an LNG terminal in Ukraine

American Frontera Resources Corporation will build an LNG-terminal in Ukraine, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said.

"Naftogaz Ukrainy signed the corresponding memorandum with Frontera company. The American company starts construction of LNG-terminal and supplying natural gas to Ukraine via the construction of the LNG-terminal," he said in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday when reporting on his recent visit to Washington.

Ukraine, UK to counteract Russian propaganda together – Yatseniuk

Ukraine and the UK will together fight against Russian propaganda, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said.

"Opposing Russian informational aggression is the main thing we'll do with our British partners. We must tell the truth and show the truth on all world channels," Yatseniuk said in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday.

The PM noted that in addition to armed invasion Russia also globally executes information aggression against Ukraine. "Goebbels-style propaganda is the main Russia's weapon in the whole world," he said.
