Ukraine cuts Russian gas consumption threefold - Gazprom

OAO Gazprom has increased its gas exports to non-CIS countries by 41.36%, while Ukraine has reduced the consumption of Russian gas almost threefold.

Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said this to journalists, the Neftegaz.RU Intl news agency reports.

"By the end of October, the Gazprom's exports to the non-CIS rose by 41.36%. At the same time, Ukraine reduced the consumption of Russian gas threefold," Miller said.

According to the Gazprom CEO, the reason for Ukraine’s consumption cuts is the financial deficit of the Naftogaz of Ukraine.

The prepaid Gazprom gas for Ukraine remains for only five days.
