Poroshenko: Government won't let destabilization happen

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has warned that the authorities will not allow the domestic situation to be destabilized, and said that the incident in Mukacheve, Zakarpattia region, was about re-distribution of contraband flows and the inquiry should lead to relevant staff reshuffles, Interfax-Ukraina reports.

"The head of state noted that the rise in tensions along the Donbas contact line has oddly synchronized with an attempt to destabilize the situation deep in the home front, thousands of kilometers from the frontline, where people turned up armed with heavy weapons. The president noted that during the war attempts to destabilize the situation are a powerful blow to the national defense and national defensive capability, and the government will not let this happen," the president's press office said after Poroshenko's speech at a meeting of the Military Cabinet of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council on Monday.
