I have mixed toughts on the news.

1. It is handy to scan through a one-liner listing of headlines.

2. It makes it difficult to keep on a thread though since they disappear so quickly as they scroll off the bottom.  Other sites have longer listings or list by topic rather than posts.

So, can't we put them in their own scroll listing?  Separate from the main postings.  News shows at the bottom of the main page so, can't we fix it where they can be posted into there?

I shall put it where people want it sir (site allowing).  If I am honest however I only started to put the news on the site a few months back as reference points to spur debate (and therefore activity) on the site.  It was not my intention to be "political editor" or "news correspondent" for the site.  If however others would like me to continue I shall do so.  I believe many guests use the site for a quick news reference point on occasion.  Undecided

That said, the weather is now breaking for the better, so time the time I spend on the site will decrease rapidly as facades, foundations, the odd roof etc etc go on in the dry but not too hot period.   Undecided

The news can still continue, as I will read it all on line anyway from the 4 or 5 sites I use to keep up to speed in Ukraine, Russia and the rest of the planet, so copy, cut and paste the "headlines" or "interesting" articles takes no extra time if it is to the benefit of others.  Smiley

I like the news on the site! Mostly, the articles are interesting and informative and of interest to all who frequent expatua.

I believe when you email a news article to a friend, relative or associate using the function within the relevant news site, the emailed article arrives with a very clear reference to the source of the information.

What I suggested simply acknowledges the source of the news item posted. I believe that would very likely be acceptable but I am no expert.
