SB, you are a member here like everyone else and free to post whatever, I guess.
But this Ukrainian ladies thing is just getting too worn and tired to the point that it is getting a bit annoying.

Here is my suggestion for the forum.
It should try to attract as wider audience as possible by advertising or other means at the same time using good moderation (which the board has now in place).
As far as I know ,the number of expats in Kiev, let alone Ukraine, is quite significant, yet only less then 20 are regulars here.  I am thinking why would that be the case?
Do expats not know about the site? Are they too busy to participate?
I think the site has such a potential which is not fully being explored.

By the way it is interesting that the majority of the IPs seem to be from the US.
Vera, That is no surprise. Americans are the ones that are really serious about Ukrainian ladies. I think Americans are less judgemental and open to new cultures and customs, while many Europeans are more restrictive. Americans are just used to people from all nations in the first place and don't discriminate for the most part. Then American men also recognize the beauty Ukrainian women posses and their good moral values.  Smiley SB

Whilst I will not debate the "workings of American men", not being one, I do not think that London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Glascow, Belfast, Oxford, Cambridge, Leicester, Portsmouth, Southampton, Newcastle, Nottingham or any other major town or city in the UK is any less accustomed to hosting numerous cultures and customs than any city in America.  The ethnic minorities in Britain openly celebrate their ethnicity in numerous parades, carnivals and music events in most of these cities every year.  I would expect Berlin, Toronto (not European I know), Rome, Paris, Brussels, Amersterdam, and numerous other European cities are also the same.

As "Europeans" are made up of 30 or so countries in one mainland continent (with a couple of islands as well), each with a culture and identity of their own, how can they be less open to different culture and custom when to go more than 1500 miles in any direction will invariably mean crossing at least one national boarder?

If you extend that to the nations some of these countries have historical links too, through various empires in the past, which most still have strong business and social ties with, there is very little of the world of which they are not used to the culture and custom.  Between Britain, France and Spain alone (not counting the other European nations) there is hardly a culture not known or experienced by them.......or indeed influenced by them historically including the USA.

I personally don't see the problem with it. If you have nothing to hide why would it bother you.
Lakelander, why are you not posting under your real name then? SB

For the same reason as you quote in your signature.

I'm missing something here  Huh

Where is this tracing widget? I'm not seeing where anyone is

aaahhhh?Huh you mean at the bottom of the page?
It shows where a user is, but now who the user is.
What's the big deal?

I had the same thing on my website. People actually liked it. I kept a record of every city that had visited my site, and people used to email me if "their" city wasn't listed

Vera, Glad to get your approval "to post whatever, I guess" If you pay closer attention you will notice that over the  last 10 days or so I have made about 85 postings covering a wide range of topics and only 3 or 4 has anything to do with "Kyivilankas". I know it is like a red flag for some members being over sensitive on the topic, but most of those postings were in the new relationship section. Please keep things in perspective. Thanks. SB

Your last mentioning of Kievlyankas or women was in THIS thread, named "Like the new IP tracking widget" in section, called Your Expat Ukraine. How is IP tracker related to women???

Vera, What's new? I know that.... why are you telling me? You just missed my point again. 3 or 4 postings on a topic you don't like but out of a total of 85 posting over a 10-day period I have made? You were concerned about the recruitment to this site and I have been thinking of why you don't see more activity here.

It is not a supportive and resourceful site any more after Ed left. Many here are just nitpicking on each other, not really contributing and not trying to exchange or share information about Ukraine. If someone posts a topic out of favor, everyone chims in with snug remarks instead of just ignoring the posting and move on to something more interesting. The site has also developed away from being Ukrainian and that might have lost the appeal to some. Areas I could have been without (my personal opinion mind you) on this forum to mention a few, the international section (I prefer BBC or CNN) and many postings are just cut and paste from those sources, then the Polish section (why on a Ukrainian site?). Why not add a Russian section, American section, British section too then? What is so special about a Polish Forum?  Roll Eyes For Ukrainians I would think it is an insult on a Ukrainian site considering the history between Ukraine and Poland who has not always been a friendly neighbor to Ukraine. I might have just opened a can of worms by saying so  Roll Eyes

I think what most users really care about are topics related to visa, permits, regulations, housing, jobs, business opportunities, sharing experiences about living in Ukraine, importing cars, investing in real estate, the club scene, women, men, entertainment, relationships, local customs, places to visit in Kyiv, things to do, language training, etc.

Just had to vent a bit about all this, but you were wondering why not more locals were busy using the site? Perhaps they are just busy trying to make it in Ukraine and no time for this  Roll Eyes Whoever made Ed leave, caused damage to the content here and did none of us a favor by doing so. Just my 2 cents worth. All this nitpicking on each other. Be constructive, and move on if there is a topic you don't like.  Wink SB

The information was always available for Admin. Since he is a nice guy, he obviously thought he would share it with us. I like it.

And I'm in Germany because I work in Kiev for a German company.

I can't see the problem really where it thinks I am because I'm only there 5 days a year.

BTW SB How is the PH in San fran?
