Thank you for all the good work, and welcome to the moderators  Smiley
Just a suggestion:
To my taste the number of forums is too big, too much to really grasp/overlook/scan 'in one glance'.
Suggest that the number of forums be reduced to 10.

Thanks, Nik!

Claus, hardware prices have dropped dramatically in Ukraine so now is the time to buy that 19" FST monitor you have always promised yourself you will buy one day! Alternatively, you can always up the resoltuion to get more forums for your money!

So my 'Denglish' is not understandable  Wink.
The issue is not the size of my screen, the issue is the limitations of my brain (and of any other average brain).
It is a known, proven, scientific fact that the human brain can not overlook more than 10 things at the same time/in one glance.
Thus my suggestion  Undecided

Sorry, Claus, I only meant it as a joke!  Cry

I agree with your scientific fact - it probably relates to, let's say, most people BUT not to our Ukrainian wives and girlfriends who see everything, anywhere while multi-tasking with considerable ease!

Well I do come back to this issue (without any wrath, Carl  Roll Eyes)
As Ed says in another thread today - and let's welcome him back indeed! - let's move forward.
I still think the site should be limited to no more than 10 main 'forums', simply for the sake of fast overview.
Such as,
1. Practicalities for expats living in UA
2. Praciticalities for foreign visitors/turists visiting UA
3. Places, sights, turism in UA
4. Jobs/working issues in UA
5. Establishing/running business in UA
6. Entertainment in UA (bars, concerts, discos, embassy events, football, movies, restaurants, soccer, theaters, etc)
7. Ukrainian politics
8. Things happening in the world outside UA, be it president elections in USA, football in Australia, UK, USA, prime ministers in Germany and UK, soccer in Scandinavia or Italy, or whatever
9. Language forums for whatever group wanting to discuss in their own language
10. Unmoderated (everything goes!)

Then so-and-so-many sub-subjects can be added.

Also, I suggest that the 'new posts' are moved up ahead all and everything else.
Because I start my scan with that every visit; naturally more structured brains don't do that Grin

Well that was my bit for now  Cool

I think it's ok the way it is. As long as everything is posted to the proper forum it will all be fine

Wrath, Claus? It was only a joke about obtaining a larger FST screen. I did not voice an opinion but I will now - I like the forum the way it is. However, that said, moderators have no control over the various forums, these being totally the domain of Big "A".

I am not sure what you mean about new posts being moved ahead. Everything works for me and I only ever check new posts which are easily identifiable. After reading through those that appeal, go back to the main forum screen and select the "MARK ALL MESSAGES READ" before doing a refresh or exiting expatua.

You might also try "tweaking" your User Profile for this offers some control as to how the forum is presented to you. In addition, if, for example, the Business forum does not interest you, simply depress the "-" (dash) to the left of "Business" and expatua will hide the business topics.

Apologies if I am missing the point entirely (and do let us know in good time when you and your beloved expect to be in Odessa).
