If you're looking for a sedate, peaceful way to fill a summer weekend afternoon, try heading down to the river terminal (the building  looks like a riverboat) located across from the McDonald's in Podil and taking a boat ride on the Dnipro.  Even if you pack a simple picnic lunch and ride the funicular down to Podil the cost is less than $18 for a couple.  Well, okay, I guess if you get a couple of bottles of wine then, maybe, a tad more.  Now that we are into Fall weather, it may be a bit cool out on the water so take a sweater!  Afterward, you can walk up Andriivs'kyi Uzviz, surveying the local artwork, sighing over souvenirs and laughing at some of the T-shirts!  My personal favorite has the old Societ Hammer and Sickle logo and the legend - KGB: We are STILL WATCHING!

Simple, scenic and pleasant - though you need to be careful that you don't sit too close to the sound system speakers.  Trips are about 2 hours out on the water.

Technically, it's agains rules to bring beverages aboard and I'm not sure thay sell wines there. So be careful Cheesy

for a wonder, sometimes that helps simply to ask them to make it not that loud.

Hi ED,I found the trips Downstream, were 30 minutes shorter Overall, than if you took the Upstream Boats, but that could of course have been down to the Captain on the Day?.
I Will arrive Kiev,Monday May 5th,will the River Trips have started up or not until June? Thanks.
