Sofiyivsky Park Uman

made the 2 hour trip by car yesterday to this lovely park just off the Kiev-Odessa highway. Future venue for joint meeting of Odessa/Kiev expats? Nice place and if you don't have a car I think there is a shuttle from Kiev.

The only blot on the day was committing the great crime of 96 is a 70 zone. I think I upset the militia when asked for 200 Gr I replied this is Bila Tserkva not Novi Arbat. Only when I said I'd phone the UK embassy to ask their advice on what level of straf to pay did he accept my kind offer of 20.
