Being that Odessa is not so far of a drive on a good road. Could someone tell me what there is to do there?

Type ?odessa sights?, or some such on the net. Also a couple of kilometres of small white sand beaches. Swim in the sea. ?Like swimming in warm milk? my friend has just written me. (I left in July and at present I am in the middle of my last New Zealand winter).
A fun park with some new attractions. I have watched people terrified out of their skulls on the spinning Boomer. Vertical, 20 metres long, pivoted in the middle and at the chairs on either end. I do not have the courage to ride on this thing. The heat is sometimes opressive (+30 deg C). there are still lots of big trees growing out of the sidewalks to catch some shade.
7 kilometre and Prevoz markets are worth a couple of days at least. Now is a good time to visit. Winter is quiet though still beautiful.

I did a weekend break a couple of weeks ago. Stayed at the Mozart and found some nice restaurants. It's a nice centre just to wander around and look at the sites I think I posted a few restaurants on another post?

Arcadia is the place to go when the weather is good. Lots of bars, restaurants, night clubs and good beaches.
Make sure you change your dollars (or whatever) before you get there as the exchange rates are criminal! (As of today, 3 Sept 07, in Odessa City 5.02 UAH to 1 USD vs Arcadia 4.80 UAH to 1 USD).
I have to second 7km market (recommended by Dazure) - just about anything and everything. It is so huge, you need a day to wander around so you need to get there early in the day. Lots of bargains, some good quality clothing, especially from the Turks.

Not really as we have never had cause to use any. There are many with prices ranging from $45 to $500 a night which is a joke in some cases. I couldn't personally recommend any. You might consider an apartment instead. Short lets are available and Odessa has its own Aviso for property rentals, just like Kyiv. You may find something there. http://aviso.ua/aviso/editions/odessa/It's much cooler now but there are still a lot of holidaymakers in the city.

We were in Odessa, stayed in nice apartment on Pushkinska street , 100m from Opera house. Nice apartment, bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, well equipped, clean, with access to high speed internet. Rented via internet from www.OdessaApts.com Service of the agency was very good. Choice of apartments from 40 to 150 $ , all located in centre, so everyone can find something suitable. (prepayment one night fee, deposit 100$, full amount must be paid at arrival in cash which is not very convenience). Odessa is very nice city with lovely centre, different atmosphere than Kiev, and some more attractions like dolphins show etc. Will be back for sure Slawek

You cannot fly Wizzair yet, not until 7th July at which time you can expect a mad rush for tickets. I don't think you will find any availability until about 11th July but not for your UAH 100! This suggests that tickets are being sold well in advance although, of course, I cannot be sure about this.

Hi Tygrlive, did You notice on Whizz Air website, the Little Surcharge on Each flight, Paying for Each Flight Ticket eg;£1.50 Maestro Card or £4 Mastercard (x2 Return) Paying for Each Flight Bag* (x2 Return) Paying for Each Flight Extra leg room*,6 seats Only Available (Emergency Exit Seats) Paying for Priority Boarding each flight* (No such thing at Simferopol when we ALL had to run across the tarmac to get on the Boeing Airbus) *Cost of these Services Doubles if Not Pre-Booked* Whizz Air flight is still Half Price compared to the Others.

yes, I know budget airlines are not very comfortable, but I have used allready Wizzair (PRG-Budapest - now is this line canceled) and easyjet, smartwings and SkyEurope for flights to London...
For longer flight as 1,5-2hours I would not use them, for short trip the price is very attractive.
This just my opinion.

Ah, you mean AeroSvit? http://www.aerosvit.com/eng/How did you manage that? Did you book in advance? Did you book only a single? Was it on the web? Were you issued an e-ticket? Sorry to ask so many questions for the best quote I can get seems to be around UAH 1,303 return per passenger.
