Hey guys, I think you have exaggerated about Transnistria. It's true that there is like in soviet period and there is a lot of problems, but it's not very dangerous as you describe. I have been there many time. My brother's wife is from Transnistria. So, there it's not like in a thriller move. If you want to see Lenin's monument, you can visit Tiraspol  Smiley
The place might be ok to visit for Moldovians, Russians, Belarussians and Ukrainians but not for tourists. It is not about a "thriller movie", the break-away region is ruled by thugs, criminals and what have you. Women are being forced into prostitution, censorship exercised, the Sherriff family ruling the region as their own backyard and an "internal security" minister on the Interpol's wanted list brainwashing young people in the area. I can add drug and weapons smuggling, murder and rape. It is not about a Soviet style country or not, that is an insult to Russia. Transnistria is a place where no law or order exists. In Russia you have order and a court of law.

SB, have you actually been there or again your fantasies?

you seem not to understand that a tourist is very likely NOT to engage in any dangerous activity, NOT to be a target of thughs/mafia/etc...

this is true in Transdniestr like in many other places.

Why not try North Korea instead? Should not be a problem for tourists like you then  Roll Eyes Pretty female secret police to keep you company on your nights out  Roll Eyes

Still, I want to organise a petition to get Moving back... I've never been so amused (and had so much eyebrow-raising exercise) by anyone's posts in my life!!!

Although I was beginning to wonder if it was all for real ...;-

If it wasnt you that was banned I apologise, but I have it on good accord that it was you, or maybe you have an impostor doing the rounds.

Out of interest what are you going to report me to admin for? Surely this is a bit rich coming from someone who recently made distasteful remarks about under age girls  Huh I am pretty broad minded but even I found that a bit sick!

RJM keep slandering pls!!!

The report is long and needs to touch the following points:

1)Ukraine must be the country for having fun when you are a foreigner in fact it is the ONLY country where I felt like getting girls because I was a foreigner
2)Ukrainian women HATE their men and it is crazy how they hate them
3)SilverBullet cant even dare to compare the beauty of Moscow's girls with that of Kiev's girls. Only Odessa can triumph over Moscow.
4)I had to stop girls at university and tell them they would not be allowed in italian universities with such shorts
5)MissHateMen took me to her place and then told me "I do not let you leave Ukraine with a smile on your face"
6)the linguistic issue it is very interesting and Ukrainian language will die

Thanks for the "interesting" points of you.

I think that it is an urban myth that Ukrainian girls hate their men, when I first was in Moscow in 1998 I heard Russian girls say this very much also, however that changed the more and more that their men began to become solvent.

The same situation is happening in Kiev right now with lessand less girls showing interest in foreigners, the drying up of the marriage agency market is surely proof of that. As for Odesa and provincial cities I am certain that things will eventually change there also!

You know, rjm, I think you quite right here. I have noticed that local girls here have switched their interest quite a bit from foreign to local men. I conducted my super mini sociological study Grin Grin that showed that of all the girls that were asked the question “would you prefer to date/marry a foreign or Ukrainian man?". Most answered Ukrainian. Most of them claim the mentality difference and say that it is OK and may be fun to date a foreigner but it would be extremely heard to live together  "till death do us part" due to this "mentality difference".
