That was my first impression upon arriving - that Kyiv is less overwhelming than Russia in general, and the people a bit more humble. On my first train journey here I shared a kupe with a man who told me this saying, a conversation between a Russian and a Ukrainian:

"У нас нефть и газ - а у Вас?"

"У нас морской флот... вот"

His agent threatened to shoot the former Man United chairman Martin Edwards if he didnt allow him to be transferred to Fiorentina FACT!

Not surprisingly he was gone 4 days later  Smiley

My first impression of Ukraine (before I arrived) was a fitting one for today - Andrei Kanchelskis!
