Fabregas blow rocks Arsenal
by Ben Blackmore, 12 August 2008

http://www.setanta.com/en/Sport/News/Football/2008/08/12/Prem-Fabregas-Toure-and-Senderos-all-out-of-Twente-match/?facets/football/

Arsenal have major injury worries ahead of their Champions League qualifier first leg against FC Twente, with Kolo Toure and Cesc Fabregas both ruled out.

Fabregas has developed a hamstring problem and will also miss The Gunners’ opening game of the Premier League season at home to West Brom.

Arsene Wenger has travelled to Holland with a light squad that is missing seven first team players, including Toure’s replacement Philippe Senderos.

Also missing are Samir Nasri and Abou Diaby, as well as longer-term casualties Tomas Rosicky and Eduardo.

Steven Gerrard could feature in Liverpool's Champions League qualifier against Standard Liege on Wednesday after recovering from a thigh strain.

The Reds captain trained with the rest of the squad on Tuesday night, a week after picking up the injury.

Steve Finnan will not play after he was left behind amid reports of a row between himself and Rafael Benitez.

The Liverpool boss is likely to start with new signing Robbie Keane alongside Fernando Torres up front.

Benitez believes that his new-look strike force are as good as anything in Europe and is backing the duo to fire Liverpool into the group stages of the Champions League.
