Has anyone had any experiences buying stuff from this well known and much advertised internet shop

http://www.rozetka.ua/

The prices seem to be cheaper than the shops, they come to your home with the goods.

I bought a mobile last year from another internet shop and was very satisfied.

For the record I am looking for a new notebook, dont want to spend more than $800. Are there any techies out there who can advise me of the best ones in this category, I am not a gamer and use it mainlyfor internet, skype, music etc.

Does anyone own an ASUS? They seem to be good value but know little about them!

ASUS is a good choice, it is more professional stuff. Acer is ok too, specially for home use.

I have very good experience with ASUS but pay attention to the type of a screen surface they use on some models. It looks like a mirror and it could be tricky to get the right monitor position in the bright room. Some users prefer traditional dark screens.

Don't know about the rozetka.ua shop. I used matrix.ua before.

My advise - get the notebook in the shop. Try before buy. Gigabyte and City.com are to start with. If you make a model choice, drop me a word and I'll try to find the better deal in Kyiv.

BTW, a good search tool is HotLine - http://www.hotline.ua/gd/12/859

Many thanks Admin!

I will probably decide on the exact model in the next few weeks so will give you a shout.

I must admit I am tempted by ASUS though

If the Truth was Known,i would Guess 4 Main Companies make the Motherboards and Guts for Most Laptops,i have a Lenovo (IBM) Laptop £380,i had the choice Vista or X/P Professional(Xp for Me),The price Varies due the Graphics and Screen Size,Everything Else is Really Standard,Usb ports,Ethernet,Modem ports,Tv-out or S-Video out,Card Reader,Wireless ConNection,Bluetooth,Infra Red,Dvd Writer 8x Speed,Fingerprint Reader,3 GB Ram,110 GB Hard disk.
Some firms in London Rebate you the VAT if you can prove you Live and Are taking the Laptop Abroad.
