Atmosphere at Golden Gate Pub

The Kyiv Post annouces that the American Presidental debates will be shown on the big screen at Golden Gate Pub the next two Saturdays at 1PM.

What is the situation regarding smoking at this pub; I can't be in any smoke.

No idea, but someone will post up links on here so you can watch them for sure.

I don't know the answer but what I would do is to call them up directly and ask if they have a non smoking section or whatever. Their answer should be the most reliable.....I think.

... and my idea would be to stay at home and use the internet  .
This is no football-game, so why go to a pub to watch?

Generally Ukraine seems to be a designated smoking area unless otherwise stated.

People smoke everywhere at the GG
I dont smoke, but you have to get use to it at the GG, but its not so bad.
The atmosphere at the GG is probably one of the best in Kyiv. You find a better crowd at the GG than OBriens.

There is no such thing as non smoking in Ukraine.    In pubs smoking and drinking normally go hand in hand  . I am a non smoker myself but don't mind the drinking part. Carlsberg or Obolon Premium is fine, but the second hand smoking I could do without if I could.

Arena City Beer House has many big LCD screens showing different events; there's also non-smoking corner - but the vetilation system is perfect, so even when I sit among smokers it's not a problem.

Good to know. Hope more smoke free sections in other places will start surfacing too. Too bad Arena Citi is one of the more expensive places to visit.

Friends & Beer in Odessa has a non-smoking section.

Even thought it's full of cigarette smoke from teh other 2/3rds of the restaurant, they will refuse to give you an ashtray
