If anyone teaching English is interested in what language schools were like in 1977, watch this

P.S “Mind Your Language” was a popular british sitcom between 1977 – 1979. It was criticized for racism though. I watched a couple of episodes on youtube and I didn’t notice anything racist at all. Hope you enjoy it Smiley

Remember it well - My parents were both teachers and they found it funny at the time.  Smiley

I too remember it well! Had many a laugh. If I recall correctly, it was based on the TEFL courses that were all the rage at the time.

Barry Evans, the actor playing the hapless teacher, starred in many sitcoms in the 70s.

Political correctness, having gone absolutely over the top these days, will prevent the show from being repeated. A real shame for the racist mob would soon be on the scene screaming "Off with their heads!"

Another case of ......... (Thanks to Mary Hopkins - remember her, Nick?)

"Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we'd choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way"

and so on!
