Hi all,

I'm an American that speaks Russian.  When I was 19 and 20 I lived in Ukraine and Belarus.  I have several years of finance experience and a Master's in Economic Development.  I presently work as a Finance Manager for a major distributor of paper and graphic supplies here in the States.

Any advice on landing an expat job?

Thanks.

Throw your CV out in Russian and Ukrainian and English to as many recruiters and head-hunters as possible - there are lists of them somewhere in the Jobs Section of this forum........but you will have to look back around February/March time.

There are a few recruiters on this forum too.........I am sure they will contact you directly by PM though.

Some of the sponsors/adds on this forum too relate to recruitment.  As I type, www.heise-consulting.ch is displayed on my screen in the adds by Google.

You already have a head start on many expats coming here if you can speak anything like daily converstaional Russian.  Smiley

Thanks for the reply.

I'm proficient in Russian, and when I meet Russians here in the states and I speak with them they assume I'm from Latvia or Lithuania.  Really, I spoke Russian - and nothing but Russian - nearly everyday for two straight years when I lived in Minsk and Odessa.  Plus, as an undergrad, I majored in Russian.

Thanks again.

Others, wiser than myself, have previously suggested placing your CV in the newspapers here too.
