This week, the UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband will be in Kyiv.

I have tried 3 or 4 times to put a paragraph or two together to describe him for those who don't know who he is.  If you don't know who he is - that is a fair description and draw assumptions from it.   Roll Eyes

There is a one word response to this hypocritical statement by him today:

KOSOVO

Any chance someone can take him for lunch at Hidropark and lock him in the tolilets there until after the next election.

Odious charachter!!! Seems to be hell bent in making the Russia-Georgia situation 100 times worse just by opening his mouth!

Unfortunately he is making a "speach" whilst here at a university complex in Kyiv today.

No doubt will be "punching well above his weight" again and making matters worse....I expect older and wiser heads are holding their breath.  Roll Eyes Shocked Embarrassed

Russia is not yet reconciled to the new map of this region," he said.

The Russian president's "unilateral attempt to redraw the map marks a moment of real significance", he added.

Aside from redrawing the Serbian Map with Kosovo, (which conveniently doesn't count  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes), maybe someone should point out to him, we are also redrawing the map to get Georgia even within a sniff of Europe - extract from Wiki:

Transcontinental location

The geographical inclusion of Georgia in Eastern Europe is a controversial subject related to Georgia's desire to become part of NATO. Article 10 of the North Atlantic Treaty limits membership extension to European states.[48] Consequently, Georgia needs geographical appurtenance to Europe in order to technically qualify for membership. Virtually all existing maps align Europe's southeastern border with the skyline of the Caucasus Mountains. According to this definition, Georgia is not in Europe, while Azerbaijan is, as roughly 3000 km˛ of its northeastern territory lays north of the Caucasus Mountains range.

He conveniently forgot to point out including Georgia in NATO and/or the EU redraws 99% of the world maps (but that doesn't count does it.........once again).  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

On the "Up" side, at least "006" did not quite manage to get us into another war the British people will not want.........yet.  British foreign policy used to go along the lines of "does it effect British interests"?  If yes do something about it.  If not remain tactfully out of it.............bring back Lord Salisbury (an effective Foreign Secretary) he used to say "Are you prepared to fight for this policy? - If not shut up"

This is funny (and about right) - comment by a Brit in the UK:

"as David Milibrand has now put the fear of God into the Russians, I thought I'd try and see if the fear that David creates could help facilitate getting my children go to bed ... alas they said David doesn't frighten us ,,,"
