Just when you thought it was quite in Ukraine.  Cheesy

Well you know when Campers around theirs always something afoot in Eastern
Europe. Well I thought I would go one better by giving forum members the 'heads up' on
a big battle due to take place at the medieval fortress city of Kamyanets-Podilsky.
Any expats looking to venture outside Kiev or Odessa, must see what is certainly the
best historical city in Ukraine.
Their are regular train services to Kamyanets-Podilsky, so its convenient even if you
have no car.

Anyway returning to the Battle of Kamyanets-Podilsky a big 17th century living history
event and battle is planned for the weekend of 4th & 5th October 2008 in whats
called the 4th International Historical Festival.
Visitors to Kamyanets-Podilsky will be treated to the sight and sounds of two
military camps where european soldiers from Poland, the Czech and Slovak republics,
together with Ukrainian cossacks from Kiev and russian re-enactors playing the
part of russian Strelski. Will be recreating garrison town life in the 1600's.

Great post, Capt Ted  Smiley
You certainly beat me to it on this event - it looks a cracker !!!  Wink
Must check my diary although I reckon it will clash with other commitments, maybe.

I do love those Polish winged hussars - paticularly in Ukraine.

Thanks Campers, those Polish winged hussars are certainly a big attraction, love to see them
in action, charging after cossacks across a Ukrainian field.  Cool
Just think of all the action those city dweller expats are missing in Kiev and Odessa.  Cheesy  Cheesy
