As you can see from the attached screenshot, the selection of smilies and code tags are not appearing when I post.  Luckily, I know how to type in the image and url tags.  But it would be nice to be able to just click again.

Works for me. It appears the site is slowing considerably and that coupled with slow internet speeds/spikes is preventing the screen from building correctly. A refresh usually sorts the problem.

Other considerations (from a NON-techie, mind you) -

Check TaskManager to ensure iexplore.exe is not taking up too much memory. If it is, then close the browser and start again.

In the Tools menu, Manage Add ons, check that there are not too many Browser add-ons active. Any unused or rarely used can be disabled and renabled when required.

I found this helpful over the last week or so.

Carl,

I suspect some kind of add-on might be causing this problem.  Or a minor OS update.  However, I am not having a problem on any other site I visit.  At least as far as I know.  Smiley

So, I'm reluctant to fiddle around with too many things.  I might fix this problem but cause many many others.

Welllll, I just tried this on Firefox.  It works fine there.   Huh    Huh   But I much prefer Safari for my everyday browsing needs.
