Admin, our resident flooder, Alessio / Moving has now been responsible for the departure of two people in two days both EU Lounge members.

It is time to remove this guy once and for all. It might help your decision if it is brought to your attention that he has also been removed from two Russian forums although it is not known why.

Thanks

With due respect, Carl - I disagree.
It may be a fact that people left due to the - well activities of Moving; then, that's their decision - but I do not support any movement in the direction of censorship.

I have already told my opinion: if I cause loss of forum users on this forum, and these forum users are not replaced by new members (hence causing this site problem of lack of traffic) it is time I get banned. Just hope the admin will allow me to read all FOLDERS. I give my word I do not do other log-ins, this has also been true on the other site where I have been UNJUSTLY banned.
Sorry Carlushka for any inconvenience caused, I do know you care for this website.

Well, if we were to choose to let anyone post here at any time because to do otherwise would be censorship, then we would be one in a very small majority of internet sites that allow that.  I belong to some photography boards.  And except for a small corner on some sites, it's photography only.  The same with a number of political sites.  And some Macintosh sites.  "No PC is better than Mac" BS allowed.

EVERY site I have ever posted at not only had certain rules you had to follow, but followed that up with the unspoken expectation that you would use common sense and good taste.  The Admin here has not overburdened the place with rules.  Generally that is a good thing, until you run into someone who lacks such common sense and good taste.

It would be a shame if this place were to suffer the same fate as brama.com, the former "to go" place for questions about Ukraine.  IMHO, it had an even better message board facility, then we see here.  But the admins there chose to shut the place down when it became overrun by spammers and mail-order bride queries.  A shame.  It could have continued to serve a useful purpose.  Expatua still falls short of brama, but what to do.

And, if we were to have no censorship of any type, would that also be for spammers who hawk Viagra and "see some famous celebrity naked"?  Do we draw a line or not??

I strongly disagree. Moving has his ideas but in my opinion never was abusing or insulting anyone. The departure of some "lounge" members or senators is a pity of course, but a little "childish" and unfair towards this happy community (because of their value contribution).

Fair enough, Claus, your choice. As a gentleman, I disagree with the way Alessio / Moving treated Vera. No one is asking for total censorship as you put it.

Matt, bless his cotton socks, described the dilema of the wonderful brama forum. I had been a member since about 1997 when it was the site to visit for ALL things Ukraine. As well as the problems described by Matt, we also saw attacks by warped self-righteous individuals ostentatiously attacking everyone for making harmless statement. The first to go was the political forum, followed a while later by the whole lot. To prove how big brama was it is simple to still see some posts in google cache.

Alessio is most likely a silly little boy sitting upstairs in his bedroom while mummy watches television. Most likely he is gleefully rubbing his hands together with a wicked grin on his face at the turmoil he is causing while at the same time climaxing.

He did ask in one post why girls did not give him their phone numbers - simple, the guy is one very sad individual, very few real friends and whose best friend in the whole world is the family dog.

Freedom = no lines drawn - no other definition possible  Roll Eyes.

The only 'line' acceptable is a set of rules like these,

1) when on a subject, do not deviate - or your post is deleted
2) when starting a subject, put an honest heading or your subject is deleted
3) when using dirty words (whatever that is?!?), the moderator will 'dih-de-dih, dot-dot-dot' the words but not delete your message
4) when dealing with uncomfortable/dirty/whatever issues - that's all right and should not be monitored, reality must be allowed
5) if people start to quarrel in public, delete all entries of all involved
6) the only people to be banned are those who go on to promote the business of a company and/or a person in all or most of their posts

Just an opinion... Tongue

And as for being gentlemen -
no doubt you are, Carl.
Only - I do sincerely fear that the implications of that died when the internet was established  Grin

This is just where you committ a mayor mistake.

Not only I am not a childish boy sitting on his bedroom, but rather a grown up man with his values and his ideas and ready to defend them all the way through, but also feel NO pleasure in seeing members leaving.

As concern my lack of friends this really wrong, because I am a really "integrated" individuals, luckily people like me and I like them. They like me because I do not judge and I do not set moral standards. People can come to me and speak their mind freely. The story of me being an internet-nerd was already tried before only to be proved wrong.

I have never wondered why girls do not hand me their numbers, thats a complete manipulation of yours.

And as a mod you also commit a mayor mistake: you raise tensions, you act in a way hatred is addressed to one individual (the deviant, the individual who refuse to be subjected to the "dictator of majority") whilst, STICK THIS IN YOUR MIND DESPITE WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO ME NEXT, you fail at finding the sense of your role. Your role is moderating NOT siding with one or the other.

Last but not least I FULLY DENY to have offended Vera, I have just written my ideas on a subject which interests me.

And Carlushka you also lack basic understanding of how certain mechanisms work. Be sure was I really a troll/spammer, you, with your continuous attention over me, would be just be delivering me with immense "popularity".

Moving,
As you must know by now, I'm one defending you here.
In return, please listen:
It's Carls job to monitor - he's the moderator, remember?!? - and he has been far more tolerant with you that most moderators I ever saw.
If he can be tolerant with you, then you have to be tolerant with him.
So - please pipe down!

interesting...does to monitor means to side with one or another?
tolerant to me? he insulted me several times, creates threads where the common life is "ban Moving/bash Moving/etc...", what else?
and a moderator should not use rude language but rather giving the good example. If you have read the Bible you know what I am talking about.
