The forum is very quiet today, is there nothing to talk about? I've just published a new article/journal/diary/blog, the full version of which you'll find by clicking on the title at the bottom-right of the Expatua front page. Just until some more relevent reading comes along, or if you're taking a late lunch break...

I added my Crimea blog last night - I won't add it to Expatua because it isn't a full article (and I have a mountain of work to do so don't have time), but it's on my own diary (link below) if anyone would like to read it...

... Can anyone beat me for funny menu mistranslations?

Jon,

I think I can beat anyone's.
In fact when I read it on a menu I was laughing so hard in that restaurant I think they were thinking of calling the security. Ok here it goes (pardon the language, nothing to0 bad but still).

Ok so it was in a restaurant on Chreschatik. The Russian  language portion of the menu said (кола в ассотименте or in English it would something like cola in assortment) so in English portion of the menu they abbreviated it as "Cola in ass." Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Well, in Lviv the menu (in English) offered 'language salad'  Tongue

Great laugh, Jonathan. Just had to call Irina to read through as well. Can't wait to read the finished result.

My favourite was discovered on the "Dacha" restaurant website. I recommended the Dacha a while ago.

They offer "Chicken broth with bowels"!
